Five Capitals Model
The Five Capital Model developed by Forum for the Future, frames a regenerative economy by evaluating wealth through five types of capital: natural, human, social, manufactured, and financial. This model emphasises balance and interdependence among these capitals. In a regenerative economy, natural capital is preserved and enhanced, human capital is nurtured through education and health, social capital is strengthened via community and trust, manufactured capital is designed for longevity and reuse, and financial capital is managed to support sustainable investments. This holistic approach ensures that economic activities contribute positively to the health well-being of both people and the planet.
